Captain's Day
Congratulations Alan for a superb day on Saturday. For the third year in a row the Captain and Professional were beaten by our Club President John Watts and his son James who had a betterball score of 46 (James with a gross 65). Myself and the Captain managed a score of 42 points, if you beat that score could you please let us know if you would like the £5 per player winnings to go on your account, if not it will go to the Captain's Charity.
After playing with Michael Johnson at Loch Lomond this year, I would like to congratulate Peter Smilie with whom Mr Johnson won Captain's Day with 45 points. It was a wonderful score and I am sure MJ supported Peter morally all the way round. There were five teams tied on 44 points which shows just how close the day was. If you were one of those 44 point teams and would you like to snitch on your partner who let you down... Email us with the gory details and we will put it in the next newsletter.
There was a lovely atmosphere in the club house afterwards whilst the football was on, around 40 members stayed on to watch England draw with Russia and the two drunkest were Tom 4-4-2 Cockburn and Ash 'Raging Bull' Smith. A great day was had by all and well done to all the staff and members.
Ladies Captain's Day
Wendy Hill managed to keep the ladies extremely well fed and watered on Wednesday, considering the weather forecast a great day was had by all. There was lots of Champers in the halfway hut and I think that may have had some effect on the hit the green promotion we were running on the 18th green! Well done to the ladies that hit the green and thank you to everyone who entered. It was great to see such a busy clubhouse on Wednesday evening, well done to all the ladies who played and those who just came for dinner to support our Ladies Captain Wendy Hill.

Accounts in the professional shop are available to help spread the cost of purchases. However, we have had a very busy year to date and some accounts are running a little too high at the moment.
