Peter Cattell at the Olympics...
It's not every day that we have a member at the Olympics, so I thought it only correct to include our very own Peter Cattell in this week's newsletter. Peter's horse is called Leonidas Ii and is representing New Zealand with Mark Todd riding him. Congratulations Peter and Di on getting to Rio and good luck.
Monthly Medal Success for Tom
Tom Woodhouse cleaned up in the Monthly Medal last week with a fantastic score of 73 (nett 64), winning the medal by six shots! Congratulations Tom.
Parfitt's Win Again!
Two weeks ago we held the first pairs Texas Scramble event rather than the traditional fourball format. Each pairing played off of a quarter of their overall handicap and had to use six tee shots each. The winning partnership coming in with a huge 48 points was the team of Shaun and Liam Parfitt, followed by Gary Olive and Jason Haigh on 46, Andrew Moring and Adam Welsh on 45 and then the father/ son combination of Stuart and James Marshall on 45 points.
Weston Homes Order of Merit
Congratulations to all of the staff at East Herts Golf Club this week as we hosted the PGA Weston Homes Order of Merit event on Monday and Tuesday. Neil and his green staff worked tirelessly over the past few days working Sunday morning, Sunday evening, were back at 5am on Monday then back again at 3.30pm, then all repeated on Tuesday. I can safely say that their efforts did not go unnoticed, the course was in fantastic condition and the feedback from the Professionals and their guests were amazing. Thank you also to the bar and catering staff who were open from 6am each day and prepared great food for all the visitors.
The winner of the Professional event was Raymond Russell with a score of 139, 3-under-par for the two days, closely followed by for players on 2-under-par and Hannah Burke finished two shots behind on 1-under-par. The team event with a betterball score of 127, 15-under-par was Professional Adam Pike and his partner from Brampton Park Golf Club.
The event was a huge success and I look forward to running another event next year. Please click here to check out our Facebook page for the latest videos from the event.
