Due to the success of our Specialist Putting Coach Event, we have arranged another date for him to visit East Herts. James will be back here on Wednesday, 31 May from 11:00am - 6:00pm, we already have two spaces taken so please be quick and book your space here.

 

Herts Professional Championship

Last Tuesday I played in the Herts Professional Championship at Essendon Golf Club, the event was a strokeplay event on both the Old and the New Course. I was paired with James Ruebotham and Glen Portelli and the three of us at the start of the day were 1, 2 and 3 in Order of Merit and the top three qualify for the PGA county Championship at the Belfry. After a solid start in the morning, I managed to finish in a wheelbarrow with a flat tyre to shoot +1 with James on -3 and Glen on -5. After a quick bit of lunch and a pint of Estrella I managed to catch the other two up a little before bogeying the last to card a -6 (67). Unfortunately for me Glen managed a -3 and James eagled the last to shoot -8 and win the stunning Herts Pros Trophy. The Order of Merit finished with James at the top followed by myself and then Glen. So my Twitter profile will have to say I'm the second best golfer in Hertfordshire instead of the best until next year. We worked out afterwards that between the three of us for the day around the two courses that our betterball score was 28-under-par, which I think is pretty good.

Pro-Am Update

We need the team name and names of your players in Pro-Am teams and balance payment before the end of June please. We do have a number of reserve teams waiting in the wings who we will go to if we do not here from you. I will also be sending an email reminder to everyone.

 

The Titleist 917 National Fitting Day

In association with Titleist, we are inviting golfers to experience the 917 drivers and fairway woods on the nationwide Titleist 917 National Fitting Day on Saturday, 20 May. 

We will be offering golfers the chance to test and demo the new 917 family of woods to understand the potential benefits these clubs, when correctly fitted to your game, can make to your enjoyment of the game.

Amazing Fitting Results From TaylorMade Fitting Day

Max Shirvell gained 25 yards from changing from a PING G25 driver to a TaylorMade M1 driver. Garry Wood had a massive change from an old TaylorMade 9.5 degree driver to a TaylorMade M2 12 degree driver which will help him launch it higher and gain yardage. Jack Head was struggling to keep the spin down with his PING G30 driver and was losing massive yardage with it. Now he has a TaylorMade M1 driver with an extra stiff speeder shaft, the same a Dustin Johnson is using. The speeder shaft massively helped Jack by getting his spin down and hitting it a lot longer. Thank you to all that come and thank you to TaylorMade for coming over and providing the fitting day.
