End Of Season Review From The Seniors Scratch Team Hi all, Unfortunately finals day was again cursed by poor weather and despite the Superb greens at Brookmans park we were unable to deliver a competitive team score and came ninth the card of shame being won again by myself and Alan Thompson second time in three years and this time totally down to me However this should in no way distract from the truly wonderful achievement of finishing 2nd in division one our highest-ever position and only being two points away from winning it. Given we were only promoted the season before and for the last four seasons the teams who came up went straight back down again it’s something the whole team and club should be proud off This is all the more remarkable as we are the only team in division one who did not field a category one golfer most teams have at least two Ashridge who won the league have two county players plus five more off 5 or better to run them close was down to the competitive nature of all the East Herts members who played .I should also mention that East Herts has become a real challenge for visiting players which meant we had the best home record in all three divisions I would like to thank everyone who has played this year, those who have offered to play at short notice, Byron and Alan who have ran the team in my absence, the staff of the golf club who have made all the visiting players welcome and not forgetting the members of the club who have given and offered their support. Two things for next year we are changing the shirts (red has been vetoed) details to followed and it will be my last year as captain so looking for someone to take over in 2021 Thank you to all again Regards Dave Bennett
