A busy week for the professional team!
It is an exciting week ahead for East Herts Golf Club professional shop, the Weston Homes PLC East Herts Classic Order of Merit is taking place on Tuesday (30th) and Wednesday (1st) of next week with the Charity Pro-Am being held on the Thursday. A truly great event in the calendar. Myself, Gregg, Sam and Chris will all be playing in the Order of Merit event and the Pro-Am. We will all be teeing off on Tuesday morning, with the exception of Chris, who is teeing off in the afternoon. Any support is much appreciated, hopefully the members will get to see a home professional win!
Driving's for show, putting's for Major titles
Putting criticism of Chambers Bay and the USGA to one side, if you managed to stay up past 3am on Monday then you were rewarded with one of the most entertaining US Open in recent times. True, it wasn't always enthralling for the right reasons as players and pundits queued up to have a dig at the state of the greens, but after Dustin Johnson three-putted the last, Masters champion Jordan Spieth was crowned the winner. The Grand Slam is very much on, and what a story that would be.
Despite all the criticism of the greens, it's somewhat ironic that the best putter in the world came out on top. Other players may have had a length advantage but when it came down to it, it was the flatstick that won Spieth his second Major, helped by his unerring ability to find the right spots on the green, time and time again.
So, with this in mind, it's time to get to work on your putting stroke; it's where you'll most likely pick up strokes on the field. PING Club Fitting Day
We will be hosting PING here on the 29th of June between 12pm and 4pm. They will be bringing all their custom fitting options across their whole range.
